I’m Nix, a tattoo artist based just outside the nation’s capital in Downtown Silver Spring. My studio is located in the heart of what DMV locals call “Little Ethiopia.”

I began my career as an illustrator and have called myself an artist for as long as I can remember, but it was through tattooing that I truly grew into that title. After completing a two-year apprenticeship, I opened Nix Tattoo Studio.

I built this studio to be a space where people of all backgrounds, identities, and artistic experience can feel comfortable exploring their creativity. Art has always been both an outlet and a lifeline for me, and it’s an honor to collaborate with my clients to create pieces they can proudly carry with them throughout their lives and personal journeys.

Tattooing is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression. It’s a way to wear your identity, your story, and the parts of yourself that deserve to be seen.
